Chile Azul is a cross of Chili Verde and Blue Cookies, and she runs exactly how you would hope from that pairing. She grows thick, dense buds with deep green and rich purple tones when she is dialed in right. The structure is tight all the way through with no fluff, just solid weight and heavy trichome coverage that gives the whole plant a frosted look by the time she finishes. The nose hits in layers. First you get that spicy, herbal punch from the Chili Verde, almost peppery and sharp. Then the Blue Cookies rolls in with sweet cream, berry, and a soft citrus note that smooths everything out. When you break the bud open, the earthy undertones come forward and the whole thing smells rich and loud without being overwhelming. This is definitely an evening strain in my book. It shines when the work is done and you want to unplug without being glued to the couch right away. Stress melts off, aches quiet down, and you are left in a mellow, content headspace that can drift into sleep when you are ready. Chile Azul checks all the boxes for a true wind down strain. I am excited to see how she continues to evolve in the lineup because she already feels like one that people are going to ask for by name.
